NORCROSS, GA — TMS Global’s president and CEO, the Rev. Max Wilkins, has announced his intent to retire on April 30, 2024. He will have served 10 years as president. The TMS Global Board of Directors has named Dr. Jim Ramsay as president-elect, anticipating he will assume the role of president and CEO on May 1, 2024. Wilkins notes, “The opportunity to serve and be a part of the TMS Global community for the past decade has been one of the greatest honors and richest blessings of my life. Part of the richness of that experience has been knowing and working with our staff team, some of the best leaders in the mission world. Dr. Jim Ramsay, one of those leaders, will follow me in the role of President/CEO. I move into the next chapter of my life with the calm assurance that TMS Global’s future is bright, that God is with us, and that the organization will be in capable hands.” Ramsay is well known to the TMS Global staff and cross-cultural witnesses (CCWs). He has served with TMS Global since 1996 when he moved with his wife, Shawn, and their children to Kazakhstan. He has served on staff since 2006. Ramsay currently serves as the chief of global operations for TMS Global. Ramsay says, “Having been part of TMS Global for most of my adult life, I am excited to move into the role of president at this moment in our 40-year history. Over the years, I have become increasingly aware of the unique giftings and values God has put into this community through the many people who have served with TMS Global in mission around the world. I look forward to seeking new ways to apply those giftings for the advancement of God’s kingdom in a rapidly changing global context.” Ramsay will become the organization’s eighth president, taking leadership during TMS Global’s 40th anniversary year.About TMS Global TMS Global originally launched as The Mission Society for United Methodists.
