With Christianity's share of the global population holding steady at 33 percent over the past century, the question remains: How can we deepen and expand our impact in fulfilling the Great Commission? For more than 50 years, the Lausanne Movement has brought together leading voices from around the world to answer questions like this and to advance a unified, global mission strategy.
Last September, at the invitation-only Fourth Lausanne Congress in Incheon/Seoul, three TMS Global cross-cultural witnesses joined 9,000 mission leaders and influencers (in person and online) from more than 200 nations and territories. Together, attendees worked to identify critical gaps in the global mission field and create actionable solutions.
TMS Global's representation included Richard Coleman, one of four emcees for this massive occasion and a leader within the Lausanne Movement; Calum Samuelson, a theologian focusing on Ethiopian Christianity and a minister supporting fellowship among disparate Christian groups across Europe and Africa; and "DJ,"* an expert in business as mission who has served in sensitive regions. Each brought unique expertise to this pivotal event, contributing directly to discussions on some of the most pressing needs and opportunities in mission work today.
"It was an honor for Cal, Richard, and DJ, some of our cross-cultural witnesses (CCWs), to be invited to Lausanne, and not just invited, but strategically invited because of what they had to offer," tells Dr. Jim Ramsay, president and CEO of TMS Global.
In this issue, we're excited to share reflections from Cal, Richard, and DJ about their experience at this historic event. We'll also explore key insights from Lausanne that are helping shape TMS Global's strategic vision as we look to the future.
As you read, know how grateful we are to partner with you to communicate together the love and message of Jesus Christ to a hurting world--towards the day when we will see the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
