Sponsor a child’s education in Paraguay

John and Colleen Eisenberg have served in Paraguay for 13 years. Colleen teaches English to K4 and K5 classes at New Horizons Methodist School (Nuevo Horizonte).

New Horizon Methodist School serves students with limited resources. All of the students who attend the school come from families in the below-poverty bracket.

The school’s mission is to raise up a new generation of leaders who will exhibit intellectual and ethical excellence in their professions as they do their part to rebuild Paraguay in God’s name.

“Paraguay has a politically explosive history, but there is hope. A new wave of leaders is on the horizon as nearly 70 percent of the nation’s population is under the age of 30. But youth, in itself, does not bring change. We, as believers, know that change comes by the Holy Spirit working in individuals’ hearts, and these transformed individuals come together in God’s name to change the heart of a nation,” said John.

“God has significantly blessed our efforts to bring His light to this broken land these past 13 years. New Horizon Methodist School opened in 2001 with 52 four- and five-year olds. Each year since, God has made it possible to add a grade level, and now we are proud to have 708 students! The very first graduating class received their diplomas on December 6th.”

New Horizon Methodist School needs additional scholarships for the students and families (who pay a small portion, so they have a vested interest in their children's education). More than 100 children are still not sponsored.
