The Mission Society is pleased to announce that Ari Morsella has been named the new manager of member care. Ari directs and facilitates member care for The Mission Society missionaries and home office staff.

“We see ourselves in Member Care as intercessors, encouragers, listeners, and advocates. I get to connect with our people and want to celebrate their victories, grieve when they hurt, and stand with them in their struggles. I want to hear and know their stories,” said Morsella.

Ari served as a Mission Society missionary in the Russian Far East for 14 years before joining the staff in 2009. She has served as the executive assistant to the vice president for mission mobilization and training since she joined the staff.

“From my years of cross-cultural ministry I really get what our missionaries are experiencing,” said Morsella. “I understand what it is like to enter a new culture, say goodbye to family and friends, and have your worldview expanded. And I discovered that I gained far more than I ever really gave up.”

Co-directors Lauren and JoAnn Helveston are moving to a part-time schedule and will continue to participate in Member Care as pastors to missionaries.
