Lemsanya and Kristen Tisho are cross-cultural workers with TMS Global at Berega Orphanage. The Berega Orphanage helps raise vulnerable newborns after their mothers have died. Babies are raised at the orphanage with a family member before being reunited with relatives at age two.
Cows and goats provide for the daily milk needed by the one-year olds and family caregivers. Surplus milk is sold and the proceeds are used to care for the animals. Before the cows and goats can be purchased, a fence surrounding the orphanage and an animal shelter need to be built. The fence will provide the added benefit of increased security for the orphanage.
